Page-3 Gamezone’s Halloween Comicfest Event Review:
I had the best time with the other guests who were absolutely hilarious and lovable. The day was a little slow for everybody, but their PR/ Event planner Pam did a wonderful job of keeping everyone happy, fed, and entertained. Check out my last journal for links to the other guest’s websites!
I’m glad to see that most of my watchers have been enjoying my new cosplays photos! To those of you that faved and commented it means a lot ta’ me. The new cosplays that I’ve posted so far include: my updated Steampunk/ Victorian Harley Quinn (2.0) inspired by the amazing (which will be updated one more time before retirement), Harley Quinn from the DLC Harley Quinn’s Revenge, and my original “dressy” version of Black Cat/ Felicia Hardy.
The “Revenge” Harley Quinn cosplay is the second time that I’ve attempting making a larger majority of my cosplay without commissioning something (shirt, cuffs, arm-warmers, altered the pants, J pendant, and veil made by me and my amazin’ Nanay (a.k.a. Grandmother or Nannie; whatever you prefer. ). Overall I’m pretty satisfied with the outcome and she was too.
I’ve decided that changing my username would probably be best to avoid confusion on everyone’s part. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know! I’ve had a difficult time trying to come up with a new one that hasn’t been taken already.
I had so many plans for this year and I didn't even end up getting half of them done.
Obviously I didn’t finish Lydia and Morticia in time for Halloween. I had big plans I had a big plate of life preventing me from doing so. Last week my Nanay and I worked on making the pattern for Lydia’s Neitherworld poncho. It’s looking good so far. After we cut piece it together I’ll be tackling the wig. Which may, or may not, be the death of me.
Here’s a list of cosplays I’ll be working on during this winter and spring:
Marie Kanker from Ed, Edd, ‘n’ Eddy : 95% done; needs pink belt
Lydia Deetz from Beetlejuice The Animated Series: 40% done; Still need to cut the poncho out of the correct fabric and add the web detailing. Then I’ll be doing some wig styling. If anyone has any advice for this wig please let me know!
Morticia Addams from The Addams Family: 40% done; I have all the fabric and I drafted a pattern from a pattern I own. I still need to purchase a wig and work on my surprise prop!
Fionna from Adventure Time: 70% done; I had to buy another top because the one I was going to use ended up being a crop top. So now this new top is too big and I have to size it down. Other than that I need to finish putting Cake together and it’ll be done.
Misty from Pokémon: 50% done; I need to sew up the bottom of the top to make it shorter and purchase a wig. I’m either going to make a Togepi or a Staryu to go with this cosplay as well.
Nanami from Kamisama Kiss! I absolutely adore this manga. It's amazing.
Black Cat (Spider-Man): I’ll be doing some more casual and dressy looks until I can get the catsuit finished. I bought some fake nails to glue on the gloves so we’ll see how this goes. Feel free to suggest some casual and dressy looks for Ms. Felicia Hardy! Me-ow!
Mary Jane (Spider-Man): 10%; I need to basically start from scratch and make the top, buy a new wig and some jeans. I’m going for the J. Scott Campbell version. I just adore how he portrays her… and basically all other characters.
Gwen Stacy (Spider-Man): 100%; I’m pretty much done with Gwen, but I haven’t been able to get a shoot together. I may be getting a new wig.
Rogue (X-men Evolution): I have everything I need, but I just need to get to work. Does anyone know of any good dyes for fabric that isn’t cotton?
Rogue (Kotobukiya Bishoujo Version): 80% done; I need to finish the boots, buy a belt buckle, and style the new wig.
Christmas Harley Quinn from Batgirl Adventures #1: 10% done, I basically have all the “jingle bells” needed for the cosplay, but nothing else. If anyone can make any pattern or fabric recommendations that would be fantastic!
DC Bombshells Harley Quinn: After I saw this design I knew I’d have to do it eventually so I figured I’d start on it now. It should be relatively easy once I get the jacket.
Alice from Alice: Madness Returns: This one will be one of the ones done later in year because of all the detail work required.
Maka, Blair, & Eruka from Soul Eater: I love this anime so much and all the characters so I can’t wait to get to work on these.
Tinkerbell from Peter Pan: I finally finished the pattern and found some fabric to make into a lining. So after I get done with the wings it'll be ready.
Of course there will be some more Harley Quinn themed cosplays sprinkled in there as well.
Thank you so much to new and faithful watchers alike!!! I'm now at 21,219 page views and 438 watchers. I just want to say thank you for sticking with me throughout this journey and I couldn't be any more appreciative than I already am for that. I just hope I can continue to improve my future and current cosplays for you and myself. As always, feel free to suggest new cosplays!
LOVE YA' BAYBEES! MWAH!
